CLÍNICA IMBANACO is a General referral hospital with more than 45 years of experience at the service of the community and the adoption of highly advanced technology. Brachy expertise
CLÍNICA IMBANACO introduced brachytherapy in 2016.
The hospital was quick to adopt brachytherapy and has been offering GYN HDR brachy to its patients since 2016 first using X-ray-based planning, introducing CT in 2019, MRI in 2021 and implementing combined intracavitary/interstitial technique.
Radiation oncologists and physicists from CLINICA IMBANACO attended BrachyAcademy workshops on IGABT in GYN cancers in November 2019 in Pamplona, Spain, and on Prostate HDR brachytherapy in February 2021.
CLÍNICA IMBANACO has an extensive brachytherapy service with a special focus on gynecological cancer. The center has impressive brachytherapy facilities and a dedicated brachy team of 3 radiation oncologists and 2 physicists. Around 100 patients receive brachytherapy treatment a year. The center is equipped for HDR image-based treatment of gynecological, prostate and breast cancers and is recognized as an expert center in the region.
Educational activities
From March 2020 CLÍNICA IMBANACO is a designated international BrachyAcademy Educational Center delivering Workshops and Observational visits on GYN, Breast and Prostate image -guided brachytherapy techniques, with a special focus on GYN malignancies.
