Vratislav Strnad, MD, PhD, Prof., is Chief Senior Physician of the Department of Radiation Therapy and Chief of the Division of Interventional Radiation Therapy at the University of Erlangen Nürnberg in Germany since 1995.

Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology (GECESTRO).
Prof. Strnad is the author of over 100 peer reviewed scientific publications. He is also the Editor of the Practical Textbook of Brachytherapy and Partial Breast Irradiation Using Multicatheter Brachytherapy. In addition, he is the author/coauthor of 35 book chapters in other books.
Prof. Strnad received his PhD in 1990 from Jan Evangelista Purkyne University in Brno, Czech Republic. In 1997 he acquired his academic degree for teaching at the University of ErlangenNürnberg for the field of Radiation Oncology. From 1983-1991, Prof. Strnad worked as a Physician in the Research Institute for Clinical and Experimental Oncology, Department of Radiotherapy, in Brno, Czech Republic. From 1991-1995, he worked as a Physician and Scientific Assistant in the Department of Radiation Therapy at the University of Erlangen Nürnberg in Germany.
Prof. Strnad is a member of numerous societies including the German Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, Chair of Working Group “Brachytherapy,” the European Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, the American Brachytherapy Society, the German Society of Senology, and Chair of Breast Cancer Working Group.
