New BrachyTalk interviews

Keep up to date with the latest news and views from the brachytherapy experts. Three new videos are now available for you:

Kari Tanderup, renowned professor in medical physics from Aarhus, provides her insights on the current research and developments in brachy physics. She discusses new developments in treatment verification and other opportunities and challenges for the future of medical physics brachytherapy.

Professor György Kovács is a passionate brachytherapy expert, treating a broad range of body sites using modern image-guided and intensity modulated HDR brachytherapy. In this video interview he provides his view on the advantages and the future of brachytherapy, and the essential cooperation with surgeons.

Breast Brachytherapy expert Professor Csaba Polgar talks about the opportunities of and his experience with accelerated partial breast irradiation (APBI) brachytherapy, and about new data arising from the GEC-ESTRO phase III APBI trial that was recently published in the Lancet. The study compared multicatheter interstitial brachytherapy with whole breast irradiation for early breast cancer. The new data that Prof Polgar presented at ESTRO 35 show positive cosmesis and favorable late side effects after APBI with multicatheter interstitial brachytherapy, thus further reinforcing APBI brachytherapy as a valid alternative to whole breast irradiation in patients with early breast cancer.
