4th BrachyAcademy GYN practical training course in Rome

On April 22-24, 2026, BrachyAcademy organized the 4th practical training course “Brachytherapy (interventional RT) in cervical cancer” at the Gemelli Hospital in Rome, Italy.

33 brachytherapy professionals from 11 hospitals across Italy, Romania, Ukraine, Greece, Portugal, the Philippines, and China came to learn how to start the combined IC/IS brachytherapy in cervical cancer.

What makes this edition unique is that, in addition to our traditional educational program for radiation oncologists and medical physicists, we have introduced a special track for nurses and RTTs. Based on the feedback (9.2 out of 10), it has been a great success!

The course in Rome entails 60% of time dedicated to practical skills including hands-on training to insert Geneva/Venezia applicator and needles under TRUS guidance, contouring and treatment planning.
