Complejo Hospitalario de Navarra

Complejo Hospitalario de Navarra is one of the largest hospitals in Navarra, with an in-patient capacity of 1100 beds. Located in Pamplona, it is a University referral hospital with the adoption of advanced technologies. Complejo Hospitalario de Navarra has seen uninterrupted growth in the areas of research, medical education and personnel development.

Brachy expertise

Complejo Hospitalario de Navarra introduced brachytherapy in April 2008. The hospital was quick to adopt MRI-based intracavitary/interstitial brachytherapy. Complejo Hospitalario de Navarra has an extensive brachytherapy service with a special focus on cervix, prostate, breast cancer and intraoperative procedures.

The center has impressive brachytherapy facilities and a dedicated brachy team of 2 radiation oncologists and 2 physicists. Around 350 patients receive brachytherapy treatment in a year. The center is recognized as an expert center in the region.

Educational activities

From May 2018, the hospital is a designated global BrachyAcademy Educational Center, with a special focus on cervix, breast and prostate malignancies.

The hospital hosts clinical workshops and observational visits for radiation oncologists and medical physicists on these topics.

Observational visits to the hospital are organized for people wishing to learn more about specific brachytherapy applications, observe clinical workflow and daily practices. The hospital can host 2 to 10 days in-house observational visits on aspects of CT, MR, or Ultrasound – based IGABT.
